Description
STEAMplus toolset is a collection of additional features for the STEAM platform, the popular content delivery service. The aim of the project is to provide features not included in Steam within a single external application.

Features
  • Save game & Configuration backups:
    STEAMplus can backup and restore vital game information like save games, internal game profiles and game configurations.

  • Easy launch of not-linked executables:
    Some games use other applications then the main application linked in STEAM for configuration purpose, (level) editors or other useful external applications. STEAMplus allows you to easily launch these external applications without having to search for them in the game folder.

  • Modules download:
    Some games miss certain files that are "forgotten" by publishers and can be a major problem for customers. The game might suffer from problems or lack of features due to the forgotten files. With STEAMplus it's possible to fix these issues by downloading STEAMplus game modules via the E2DK protocol and installing them.

  • Clean uninstall:
    The Steam game uninstallation usually leaves files and keys in the Registry behind. STEAMplus can remove all these files and keys to help keep your system clean.

  • Game fixes:
    STEAMplus can fix certain problems in some games, like the infamous "GTA1 start only once" problem.

  • Also, STEAMplus is :
    Light: Small in size and uses very little resources;
    Quick: No need to wait, just open and use it;
    Reliable: No external libraries or framework are needed;
    Comfortable: No installation is needed;
    User friendly: Auto detection of Steam and installed games.

SECURITY WARNINGS
  • Some games use configuration files to store information like user passwords or CD-KEYS. All this information is back upped by STEAMplus, so it's really important to NOT GIVE ANYONE YOUR BACKUP FILES. If you do this, you are exposed to be robbed of your games CD-key's and services account.

  • Don't use any unofficial STEAMplus game information database (gameinfo.dat) provided to you by forums of websites. Malicious software can be downloaded using the module features. The official gameinfo.dat for STEAMplus can be downloaded only from this site.

F.A.Q.
  • Q: Why doesn’t STEAMplus detect game XXXX?
  • A: The aim of the project is to support every game on STEAM. Unfortunately, investigation is needed in order to discover how each game stores its settings and saves. This means the STEAMplus testers have to investigate the game saves and settings and test if backup and restore works without flaw. And obviously the testers need to own the game to do the investigation. But don't worry; the official "gameinfo.dat" is updated on a regular basis, so check for it at this site.

  • Q: Can I add support for a game I own?
  • A: Of course, just add a new entry to the file "unofficial.dat". Also you can submit your info to be checked by STEAMplus testers and added to the official "gameinfo.dat".

  • Q: Will I be VAC-Banned for using STEAMplus?
  • A: No, No and No. STEAMplus does not modify STEAM's DLL's, SOURCE games or System Memory.

  • Q: Can I use STEAMplus with a USB pen drive?
  • A: Yes. Just enable the "USB mode" in the options. In USB mode backups are stored in the same folder of STEAMplus, so you can always have your saves with you.

  • Q: Why can't I download modules or is the downloading so slow?
  • A: Modules are downloaded with ED2K protocol. So you have to have an E2DK client installed and wait for it to "find" someone on the net that has the module you want. This can take a long time, so please have patience.

  • Q: Can you provide unofficial patches or cheats through modules?
  • A: NO. STEAMplus is born only to help people easily backup their saves and fix little problems that can be resolved with workarounds. Altering core files or adding cheats is far outside the project purpose.
